XA-Appliances deliver the most advanced satellite and wireless optimization in easy to install appliances, right-sized for the bandwidth and number of users at each location. For small and medium sized sites, set-top-box appliances are easily installed without the need for trained IT staff. For very high speed links or central aggregation sites, fully redundant appliances can optimize links up to 155 Mbps and support thousands of simultaneous sessions, typically increasing bandwidth from 2X to 10X for all TCP applicationsas well as technology to reduce the bandwidth for UDP applications as well.

XipOS works between users of any two devices of any type. A central XA-Appliance can support remote users of devices with XE-Embedded XipOS, the XS-104 single board computer or users with a XipStick portable optimizer. Based on the SCPS specification, XipOS optimization simultaneously works with secure and un-secure users over any wireless network.

IPSec VPN Software Option
Optimize Bandwidth and Encrypt Data

XA-Appliances can be installed in-line before any type of encryption device, serving both military and commercial users
with any type of external devices.

For many users, adding XipLink’s IPSec VPN software to an optimizer appliance can reduce operating costs by eliminating
a second device. XA-Appliance’s with the optional IPSec software can also terminate IPSec sessions, making global VPN
deployments simple and cost-effective over any network.

XipLink’s modular software option for the XA Series of appliances combines industry standard IPSec encryption and wireless optimization in a single device. Used in conjunction with other XipLink appliances or devices running XipLink’s embedded software, these appliances allow an organization to set up secured and accelerated communications between head office and branch office locations. It combines robust, interoperable, highly secure AES 256 IPSec security with XipLink’s wireless optimization features including TCP acceleration, data compression and HTTP optimizations.

XipLink’s VPN software option is standards-based and conforms to the IETF IPSec and IKE protocols. Users can selectively enable the privacy, integrity and authenticity of information sent between other participants in a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Dynamic Web Cache Hardware Option

Used at Internet hot-spots and terrestrial Internet points-ofpresence, the XO-Option for Dynamic Web Cache hardware can
speed up web surfing and reduce bandwidth usage. Enhancing other XipOS features, frequently requested static web objects are stored and subsequently delivered using a local disk drive in each remote optimizer’s, speeding up page load times and reducing the total amount of data transferred.

XipLink’s rugged XS-104 Single Board Computer (SBC) can be used to rapidly integrate wireless optimization software, delivered on an easy to integrate hardware board for custom integration into communication controllers for maritime, aviation and other mobile satellite or terrestrial wireless applications.

The XS-104 delivers full access to XipOS wireless optimization features, including kernel-coded SCPS-TP protocol acceleration, string-based data compression, http pre-fetching and special wireless link optimizations.

The XS-104 works with all other XipLink wireless optimization products and fully conforms to the SCPS-TP communication standard required by U.S. DoD.

XHO Deployment Scenario
